The 38-year-old has been one of the sport’s most successful players, boasting an astonishing 22 Grand Slam singles titles, including a record 14 French Open championships. In a video released on Thursday, Nadal shared his decision, stating, “It has been some difficult years, these last two especially,” highlighting the challenges he’s faced due to injuries.

    Injuries have plagued Nadal in recent years, including his absence from the 2023 French Open, and limited his participation in tournaments. Earlier in 2024, Nadal faced another setback when he was knocked out in the first round by Germany’s Alexander Zverev.
